It’s time to finally put some respect on his name. NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been solid this season. Yes, Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings was a train wreck, but since then, Danny Dimes has looked like a veteran running Brian Daboll’s offense. This was once again the case in the Week 5 win over the Seahawks.
Over in Seattle, Jones completed 23-of-34 pass attempts for 257 yards and two touchdowns – Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton each caught TDs from the QB. This was a total 180 from what we saw from Jones in primetime against Seattle last campaign.
Last October, the Seahawks traveled to East Rutherford and Jones looked awful, tossing two interceptions. One of those INTs was taken back to the house 97 yards by Devon Witherspoon for a back-breaking pick-six. After that game, Witherspoon trolled Jones, saying, “We knew he liked to stare down his first target.” Ouch. What does Witherspoon have to say now? It wasn’t long ago that Jones was considered a laughingstock. People were calling for Drew Lock to replace him as the team’s QB1. After five games, though, the narrative has changed and Jones has been sharp. Through his first five contests, he has thrown for 1,138 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions…
