Holiday Weather Conditions: Rain, Winds, and Snow to Impact Northern California Travel

Northern California will see a series of weather systems this week, bringing rain, gusty winds, and mountain snow, according to the National Weather Service in Sacramento.

Light rain is expected tonight into Monday, with precipitation totals of 0.25 to 0.5 inches in the Valley and up to 1.5 inches in higher elevations. Snow levels will remain above 7,000 feet initially, limiting significant mountain impacts. However, a stronger, colder storm arrives Tuesday, lowering snow levels to 5,000–6,000 feet and bringing heavy snowfall to the Sierra.
