SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Led by senior guard Annika Shah’s three point barrage, Cal Poly women’s basketball got back in the winning column Thursday with a 61-56 victory at home over UC San Diego.
Shah poured in a career high 27 points, going 7-8 from three, also a career high. Shah, the Big West leading three point shooter, also posted five assists and five rebounds. Sophomore forward Mary Carter added 15 points on an efficient 6-11 shooting in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.
As a team, the Mustangs shot 46 percent from the field and 53 percent from three for the game. UC San Diego had three players score in double figures and despite drawing a lot of fouls, they were just 7-17 from the free throw line…
