AUSTIN, Texas — A questionable pass interference penalty during the third quarter of the Longhorns’ game against Georgia caused quite an uproar at Darrell K. Royal Stadium in Austin.
With under three minutes to go in the quarter, Georgia QB Carson Beck threw a comeback route to the left side of the field and it was picked off by cornerback Jahdae Barron — but a flag was thrown.
The refs came out and said it was pass interference. However, while reviewing the play, ESPN commentators Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler seemed to believe both Barron and the intended receiver were just hand-fighting — and the fans thought so too…
