Want to go to a CFP first-round playoff game? Better open your wallet

The inaugural round of the new 12-team College Football Playoffs is nearly upon us. The anticipation has never been higher for the sport’s postseason, and ticket prices are the proof. If you’re planning on taking a trip to any one of the four first-round games, be ready to open your wallet.

Clemson fans traveling to Austin will spend at least $315 on tickets for two people on Stubhub. Compared to the most expensive tickets at Memorial Stadium this season, that’s not too bad. The difference comes when you start looking for better seats.

The prices soar into the mid-200s per ticket, moving toward the middle of the field. If you want to sit in the lower bowl, the cheapest seats are $336 a piece or $672 per couple, but those are few and far between. The vast majority of lower bowl tickets range anywhere from $500 to $850 per ticket. And the premium seats can cost up to $8,000 for two people…
