San Francisco Police Arrest 17 in Organized Retail Crime Crackdown Along Mission Street

As reported in their latest press release, the San Francisco Police Department’s Ingleside Station officers have made significant strides in aggressively combating the rise in retail theft. They have made arrests targeting Organized Retail Crime (ORC). Undercover and uniformed officers collaborated in a sting to apprehend thieves actively lifting goods from stores plagued by high theft rates along Mission Street’s 3300 and 4900 blocks.

Throughout a month-long operation from August 23 to September 24, the police initiative resulted in 17 arrests. The suspects were apprehended for organized retail crime and petty theft, with 13 adults being cited and subsequently released and four juveniles taken to the Community Assessment Referral Center (CARC).
