Steph Curry reflects on his motivation this late in his career: “It gives you perspective on enjoying the game now and enjoying every minute of it”

For 16 seasons, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry has tortured defenses and given opposing coaches sleepless nights with his otherworldly shooting and playmaking abilities. But as he enters the latter part of his career, the two-time league MVP knows he won’t likely be able to play at this high level forever.

In a rare sit-down interview with fellow legends LeBron James and Kevin Durant , Curry opened up about his mindset and motivation for continuing to play at an elite level despite being 36 and in his 16th season in the Association.

Younger players keep them going

The NBA is and always will be a fluid league. Each season brings new players who bring new challenges and strengths to the game. The latest example is the San Antonio Spurs’ wunderkind Victor Wembanyama, a 7’4″ center with incredible perimeter skills and shot-blocking prowess.

Curry says that trying to keep in step with the league’s young guns reinvigorates him every offseason, especially as he continues to develop his own game and stay ahead of the curve…
