Oberlin, Ohio – Hosting a national powerhouse on Shults Field, the Oberlin College men’s soccer team pulled out a historic performance before ultimately losing to the #14 Kenyon Owls on Wednesday night. Nathan Thompson played heroics for the Yeomen to even the match at 1-1, but a goal at the buzzer lifted the Owls over the Yeomen for a 2-1 final. The heartbreaking loss moves the Crimson and Gold to 5-10-2, and 1-5-1 in conference action.
Earning the start in cage, Grayson Benson racked up eight stops in one of hist best performances of his career. Thompson led the offense with the lone score for the Crimson and Gold, tallying his first goal of the season in the 88th minute on picture cross from Xander Francoeur.
