CLEVELAND — Ohio’s JD Vance has officially resigned from his U.S. Senate seat tonight as he prepares to take office as the 50th Vice President of the United States.
In a letter sent to Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Vance made known his intentions to step down at midnight Friday. Vance told the governor “that it has been a tremendous honor and privilege to serve the people of Ohio in the Senate over the past two years.”
