Man charged for alleged theft, use of credit cards of Orem Temple workers now named in new case

OREM, Utah, Jan. 7, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A man already being investigated for fraudulent charges on financial cards believed stolen from workers at the Orem Temple now faces new, related charges.

Alexander Cedillo Herrera, 35, faces third-degree felony charges for alleged:

  • Burglary
  • Theft/deception valued at $1,500-$4,999
  • Unlawful acquire/possess/transfer financial card
  • Unlawful use of financial card valued at $1,500-$4,999

Fraudulent charges newly discovered by the card owner, who said he used that card infrequently, included more than $2,000 spent at the Apple Store in Murray and $1.60 spent at a Maverick gas station in Orem.

“Throughout my many investigations, I have been able to identify a suspect by the name of Alexander Cedillo Herrera,” say arrest documents filed by an officer of the Orem Police Department…
