PROVO, Utah (KUTV) — Detectives recovered what was estimated to be around 210,000 lethal doses of the opioid Carfentanil when authorities seized and searched a suspicious package that was being sent to a Provo residence.
Deputies said that this investigation began when the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force was notified about the suspicious package being transported to a home within the jurisdiction.
The package was reportedly seized by the Department of Homeland Security and was found to be carrying 20.8 grams of Carfentanil. Deputies emphasized the dangers of Carfentanil, stating it is 100 times more potent and deadly than fentanyl.
