Two arrested in Tooele, drugs and children located in their hotel room

SALT LAKE CITY — Two men were arrested in Tooele County on drug and child endangerment charges, after being found in a hotel with drugs and three children.

Kennith James Pierce, 50, and Eric Mayse, 39, were booked into the Tooele County Jail on Monday afternoon.

Confidential source aided police

According to a bookings affidavit, officers were tipped off the Pierce and Mayse from a confidential source, advising police that Pierce, Mayse, another adult, and three children were in a hotel room. That source alleged that Pierce, Mayse, and the other adult were using drugs around the children and in possession of two “ghost guns,” modified to remove the serial numbers.

According to the affidavit, both Mayse and Pierce are from Bakersfield, California, and officers believed that both would flee and return to California given the chance.
