GOP could lose its supermajority in NC House

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — North Carolinians will not only have a new governor in the new year, they’ll also have some new state legislators. As close races remain to be called, it’s possible the GOP could lose its supermajority in the House. That could make it more difficult to override the governor’s vetoes.

In his victory speech , Governor-Elect Josh Stein stressed the importance of unity among members of different political parties, but a Democratic governor and Republican-led legislature aren’t always on the same page.
