The estranged wife of a retired Green Beret who had been missing since January and later found dismembered in a pond has been charged with his murder.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina, the agency’s homicide unit arrested Shana Cloud on charges of first-degree murder and concealment of death in connection with the death of Clinton Bonnell, a 50-year-old former medic in the U.S. Army Special Forces.
After multiple search warrants in February that included searching Cloud’s home, digital data, phone records, authorities were able to develop a timeline of events, not only surrounding Bonnell’s disappearance but his whereabouts prior to his disappearance. Bonnell, who missed his physician assistant program class at Methodist University, went missing on Jan. 28.
