Duke Forces 2-2 Draw at No. 1 Stanford

PALO ALTO, Calif. – In front of a record-setting crowd of 2,268, Duke men’s soccer (3-2-2, 1-1-1 ACC) secured a point in Palo Alto, California, drawing No. 1 Stanford (7-1-1, 2-0-1 ACC), 2-2.

Duke opened the scoring in the 44th minute courtesy of sophomore Ulfur Bjornsson who one-timed a pass into the back of the net, 1-0. Freshman Julius Suber began the attack, receiving a ball with space and taking it down the left side of the pitch.

Minutes after the second half began, Duke increased its lead in the 55th minute, as Adam Luckhurst deposited his fifth goal of the campaign, heading a deflected ball into the left side netting, 2-0. Stanford would storm back in the final 15 minutes of action, scoring two goals to preserve their unbeaten ACC record and earn a result in the first ACC action on campus for the Cardinal…
