On a hot day it’s only natural to want to head to the beach to cool off. That’s apparently as true for mountain lions as it is for humans. One mountain lion made its way through Pacific Grove on Wednesday, Oct. 2 to the corner of 11th Street and Ocean View Avenue, to rest under some trees just a stone’s throw from the bluffs of Monterey Bay.
Acting Police Chief Brian Anderson told the P.G. City Council on Wednesday night that someone earlier in the day reported seeing a mountain lion in the 400 block of Lighthouse Avenue at 11th Street.
“Our officers responded and they did spot the mountain lion resting peacefully in the side yard at 11th and Ocean View,” Anderson said. The house where the lion chose to nap through the hot afternoon is directly across from Berwick Park. The Rec Trail lies just beyond the park as it hugs the bluffs overlooking the bay…
