October heat shatters daily, monthly records in Northern California

October has started with record-shattering heat across Northern California. Several Valley locations have set new daily and monthly record high temperatures during the past two days.

On Tuesday, high temperatures peaked between 98 and 104 degrees in the Valley. Stockton set a new daily record high temperature of 101 degrees. The previous record for the city was 100 degrees set in 2001.
