The mass of debris caused by last Monday’s big swell and the partial collapse of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf have forced state officials to extend the closure of Twin Lakes and Seabright state beaches until Saturday.
Despite clean-up efforts that have been going on since last week, the closures have now been extended twice.
Originally the closures, which included Seacliff State Beach and Rio Del Mar State Beach, were set to end last Tuesday.
