Construction work at Nichols Reservoir continues

A small pool of water was visible at the bottom of Nichols Reservoir in mid-November, a far cry from the typical capacity of the small lake in the Santa Fe Municipal Watershed, which can hold more than 200 million gallons when full.

The reservoir was drained this spring and summer for a construction project to repair the dam’s outlet conduit and conduct other needed repairs and upgrades. City officials say the work is now about halfway done…
