More rain on the way, but the sun could return to the North Bay for Thanksgiving

This weekend’s respite from the recent record-breaking showers brought on by an atmospheric river may have allowed the rising river waters to subside and the winds to die down, but the rain isn’t ready to leave the North Bay just yet, according to the National Weather Service.

Another round of rain, set to begin Sunday evening, could drop another half an inch across most of the region, said Brayden Murdock, a meteorologist with the weather service’s Monterey office.

These light to moderate showers are products of the low pressure system that moved in last week with the atmospheric river. The anticipated downpours are expected to continue through Monday morning when they’ll start to taper off into scattered showers by Monday afternoon…
