Darryn Peterson scored 33 points on 11-of-17 shooting and had eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocked shots to lead undefeated Prolific Prep of Napa Christian to a 66-54 high school boys basketball win over Columbus (Miami, Fla.), the No. 1-ranked team in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25, on Nov. 19 at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla.
Columbus is the three-time defending Florida state champion. It was a “complete performance” by Peterson, “making an early-season statement in the MaxPreps National Player of the Year conversation,” MaxPreps reported at maxpreps.com.
