In the wake of the recent celebratory opening of an eight-mile Napa Valley Vine Trail segment between St. Helena and Calistoga comes some cleanup work — dealing with a $1.9 million cost overrun.
The original construction budget in 2022 was $12.6 million plus a $617,000 contingency. The latest overrun — combined with two previous overruns — boosts that total to $16.5 million, according to a Napa Valley Transportation Authority report.
