St. Petersburg man charged with abusing disabled nursing home residents

DUNEDIN, Florida — A St. Petersburg man has been arrested for allegedly abusing two disabled residents at a nursing home, according to a press release from the Pinella’s County Sheriff’s Office Robbery & Homicide Unit. The incidents reportedly occurred at Lake Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Dunedin.Detectives began their investigation on December 23, 2024, after receiving a report that 35-year-old Nicholas Brown, a Certified Nursing Assistant, had battered two non-verbal male residents. One victim suffers from a traumatic brain injury, while the other is a quadriplegic with intellectual disabilities. The abuse was witnessed by another employee, who reported that Brown struck the victims multiple times on the legs, side, and buttocks with an open hand……
