Baltimore bridge collapse heightens awareness among Georgia port pilots

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – An estimated 69% of all goods traded in the United States come through the nation’s shipping channels.

But on March 26, 2024, tragedy unfolded at the Baltimore harbor when a fully loaded cargo ship left port, headed for Sri Lanka. Just 50 minutes into its journey, the ship lost power and hit the Francis Scott Key bridge.
