JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Missouri’s governor and state Supreme Court have both refused to halt the execution of a man convicted of a 1998 fatal stabbing.
Governor Mike Parson released a statement on Monday afternoon confirming that the State of Missouri will continue with the death penalty sentence of Marcellus Williams on Sept. 24.
Williams is set to be executed at 6 p.m. Tuesday for the 1998 murder of Lisha Gayle, a social worker and former newspaper reporter who was repeatedly stabbed during a burglary of her suburban St. Louis home…
