Few college football fans could have imagined that not one but two AAC teams would be nationally ranked heading into Week 9 of the 2024 season. With Army and Navy ranked at No. 23 and No. 24 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll , the unimaginable has happened.
For the first time since 1926, Army and Navy have started the college football season with a combined 13-0 record. Amid his team’s first 7-0 start since 1996, Army head coach Jeff Monken praised his undefeated Black Knights for their professionalism and discipline so far.
“What I really appreciate about our team and like about our guys is they are very professional,” Monken said (h/t Times Herald-Record ). “They’ve got that, ‘It’s the next game,’ and that’s the most important one. Enjoy the victory, yes; appreciate the fact that we won the game but get on to the next one.”…
