MADISONVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — An East Tennessee murder suspect appeared Tuesday morning in a Monroe County courtroom for an arraignment hearing days after his arrest in South Carolina.
Nicholas Hamlett , 45, was arrested on Nov. 10 in South Carolina after a multistate manhunt. He faces a charge of first-degree murder in Monroe County in connection to the death of 34-year-old Steven Lloyd of Knoxville.
Hamlett was initially set to be arraigned Monday morning, but was not brought in due to being placed on suicide watch. Hamlett’s appearance was then reset for Tuesday morning.
