TGI Fridays closes Oxford Valley Mall location; company considers bankruptcy

The TGI Fridays in the Oxford Valley Mall rim is the latest of the popular pub chain to close its door, it was announced late last week.

The chain, which pioneered the casual dining experience in the United States but is now considering to file for bankruptcy, abruptly closed the Middletown Township/Langhorne restaurant on Oct. 24, as well as sites in Allentown, Pa., and Bridgewater and Watchung, New Jersey. This follows closures of TGIFs in January that included the longstanding Willow Grove Park Mall location, which had opened in 1983, the first in the Philadelphia region.

The closure leaves TGI Fridays locations in Bensalem Township, Philadelphia, and Quakertown, as well as Burlington, N.J., as the only ones still in operation in the Bucks County region…
