The Beaver Dam football team dominated 5th ranked and previously unbeaten Plymouth 34-15 in the East Central Conference opener on Friday night in Plymouth.
After a scoreless first quarter that saw a pick six by Eli Johnson wiped off the scoreboard because of a penalty, BDHS found paydirt early in the 2nd. With 11:47 left in the half, Eli Bryant connected with Jeff Freund on a 13-yard TD pass on 4th and six. That score capped an 11-play, 99 yard drive. The Beavers went up 14-0 when Moose Morrissey plunged in from 3-yards out with 7:08 left in the first half. The Golden Beavers went to halftime locker room outgaining the Panther 213-26.
Plymouth tried to get back in the game, early in the 3rd as Maximo Troka picked up a punt blocked by Sawyer Vorpagel and rumbled 53 yards for the score to cut the BDHS lead to 14-7. Josiah Barnes had the counter-punch, breaking free for a 45-yard TD run at 5:07 of the third to push the lead to 21-7. …
