Burned bobcats missing after Crowders Mountain-Coyote fire, conservation center says

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Wildlife workers are searching for two bobcats who were severely burned in the major wildfire at Crowders Mountain State Park.

The Carolina Conservation Wildlife Center reported the injured animals were seen along Crocker Road in Kings Mountain late Monday afternoon. Rescue staff spent hours searching with headlamps after dark but were unable to locate the bobcats, which are believed to be victims of what local officials are calling the Crowders Mountain-Coyote Fire.
