Federal disaster declaration granted for Southeastern NC counties impacted by Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. (WECT) – The federal government granted a disaster declaration for Southeastern North Carolina counties affected by Potential Tropical Cyclone 8 Saturday, Oct. 19.

The storm hit Southeastern North Carolina Sept. 16, causing widespread flooding and damaged roads, homes and businesses.

The disaster declaration means that Public Assistance funding for emergency work and the repair or replacement of damaged facilities in Brunswick, Carteret, New Hanover and Onslow counties will be available from FEMA…
