North Carolinians continue to struggle with incoming medical bills despite efforts to reduce debts

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — It is estimated that more than 13 percent of adults in North Carolina have medical debt, according to KFF, a health policy research organization. That stat makes North Carolina one of the top states with the highest share of medical debt.

Monday afternoon, Gov. Roy Cooper gave an update on steps being taken to tackle medical debt across the state.
