‘Save lives’: 2 children survive Gastonia car crash thanks to rear-facing car seats, police say

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Gastonia Police is reminding drivers to properly secure their children in their car seats after two kids walked away from a serious accident.

Authorities said the wreck happened around 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the corner of North New Hope and East Ozark Ave in Gastonia.

“Traveling for the holidays? Two kids in rear-facing car seats walked away from this crash in Gastonia last week with minor injuries because they were properly restrained,” the Gastonia Police Department shared . “Car seats and seatbelts save lives.”
