Warrant issued for N.C. woman’s arrest after $9K stolen from MO energy provider

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a North Carolina woman after an alleged attempt to steal thousands of dollars from a Missouri energy provider through a check stolen from the mail.

Clinton County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Friday, Jan. 3, have revealed that Destinee A. McCormick, 26, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been charged in connection to a check that was stolen from the U.S. Postal Service.

A probable cause statement filed by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the owner of Frazier Energy, LLC, had sent a check to a company they use for business purposes in August. However, the check had been presumed lost in the mail when the check never arrived at its intended destination…
