FEMA puts rumors to rest over claims of taking resources from western North Carolina

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – FEMA officials are putting several rumors to rest over claims that are taking resources and supplies away from states impacted by hurricane Helene.

They sent this statement to our Fox Carolina News room:

“The claims about FEMA confiscating or taking commodities, supplies or resources in North Carolina, Tennessee, or any state impacted by Helene are false. FEMA is continuing to work with our federal family and state and local partners in the impacted areas to effectively bring in life-saving resources to the people and communities who need it most. To date, FEMA has shipped over 13.2 million meals, more than 13.4 million liters of water, 157 generators and more than 492,000 tarps to the region. FEMA has already helped thousands of Hurricane Helene survivors jumpstart their recoveries with more than $110 million in federal assistance.”…
