Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development reported how this state’s 95 counties did with unemployment in November. 91 had less than 5 percent of its workforce without jobs, with 17 of those showing decreasing unemployment.
Moore and Williamson counties tied for first place with 2.6 percent (lowest in October as well), the second fewest without jobs was Sevier (2.7 percent), Rutherford County was #4 with 2.8 percent, and Davidson, Cheatham, Sumner, and Wilson tied for fifth place with 2.9 percent.
CITIES IN RUTHERFORD COUNTY: Murfreesboro recorded an unemployment rate of 2.9% last month, which means the jobless numbers decreased between October and November by -0.1 points. In November of 2023, the unemployment rate in the ‘Boro was a low 2.6%. Matching Murfreesboro last month was the Town of Smyrna at 2.9%. Their unemployment rate for the month of October was also tied with the ‘Boro’s’ at 2.9%. Last year, 2.4% was the number seen by employers in Smyrna, TN (Nov. 2023).
