Person jumps off ferry boat in Bridgeport Harbor, officials say

A number of rescue crews responded to the waters in Bridgeport after an individual jumped off a ferry boat and plunged into the harbor on Tuesday night.

Crews responded to Bridgeport Harbor around 9:08 p.m. after receiving the report that someone suffering a possible mental health issue jumped from the Grand Republic ferry boat, according to Tiadora Josef, director of public information and emergency management for the city of Bridgeport.
