Waterbury police uncover chop shop during car theft investigation

WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) – Two people were charged for operating a chop shop in Waterbury, police announced.

They identified the arrestees as 33-year-old Melvin Mendez and 34-year-old Ronal Breins, both of Waterbury.

Police said they were investigating not only stolen cars being driven around the city, but also the whereabouts of stolen vehicles no longer on the road…
