Driver cited for not having license plates while test driving vehicle from dealership

PROSPER, Texas (WKRC) – A man found himself in legal trouble after he test drove a truck from a car dealership.

Daniel Rocha was pulled over by police during his test drive because he didn’t have a license plate on the back of the vehicle, according to ABC 8. Rocha received a citation for Operating a Vehicle Without License Plates.

The Prosper Police Department confirmed the violation and told ABC 8 that, “Failure to properly display dealer tags on test-driven vehicles is a violation of Texas law and can pose safety risks, potentially resulting in enforcement action by law enforcement. Under state law, vehicle operators are held responsible for any citations if this law is ignored.”…
