Shreveport man convicted of manslaughter in fatal shooting of girlfriend’s ex boyfriend

SHREVEPORT, La. – A Shreveport man who fired over a dozen shots at his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend in a Highland neighborhood apartment parking lot was convicted of manslaughter Friday, in Caddo District Court.

Antonio LeCedric Ray Johnson, 29, was found guilty by a unanimous nine-woman, three-man jury in the courtroom of District Judge Chris Victory. The jury deliberated for approximately three hours following a trial that began on Monday, Sept. 23.

The jury determined Johnson fatally shot Travarrius Adams on May 27, 2020, at the Oak Meadows apartments in the 1900 block of Centenary Boulevard. Adams had driven into the apartment complex with his girlfriend and her two young children and parked next to a vehicle in which Johnson was a passenger. Johnson then exited the vehicle and fired at least 13 rounds from a 9mm handgun, striking Adams 12 times. Adams was rushed to a local hospital but died from his injuries…
