Tri-County police launch ‘Sober or Slammer’ campaign to prevent drunk driving

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The families of two women killed during a hit-and-run in April are making sure you don’t drink and drive this holiday season.

Simpsonville natives 20-year-old Lizzy Zito and 20-year-old Arianna Gamber were walking north near a bike lane on April 28 in downtown Charleston when a 2010 Acura TL swerved to the right, striking and killing both women.

The crash happened on Morrison Drive between Harris and Cooper Street. The two women were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office…
