Rep. Feenstra visits 185th Air Refueling Wing

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Iowa’s 4th congressional district representative Randy Feenstra made a visit to Sioux City on Tuesday.

Feenstra visited the 185th Air Refueling Wing to see the mission the airmen and women are currently on. The representative even got to fly onboard a KC-135 Stratotanker and see the refueling wing do mid-air refuelings for four F-16 aircrafts.

Representative Feenstra says the flight and visit will help him take back notes on what the 185th Air Refueling Wing needs from Congress, such as funds for a new runway.

“For me, it’s all about how can I help, how can I make a difference,” Feenstra said. “The big thing here at the 185th is we know we’ve got to redo the runway. These KC-135s are very heavy and the runway’s really getting beat up, so we know we’ve got to create a new 9,000 to 11,000 square foot runway. And that’s what I want to work on, I want to figure out how to do that, how we can create a solution to make sure we keep the 185th here in Sioux City. That is my passion, I know how important it is to the community, how important it is to our nation that this 185th is successful.”…
