Child recovered after Algiers woman’s car stolen at gunpoint, NOPD says

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – An Algiers woman was reunited with her child after her car was stolen at gunpoint late Friday night (Dec. 27), New Orleans police said.

The NOPD said the woman was parked outside her residence in the 1300 block of Michael Street around 10:45 p.m., with her child in the back seat, when a man knocked on her window brandishing a gun.

The unidentified suspect demanded money from the woman, then ordered her out of her vehicle and used it to flee the scene…
