Down to Business: The Corner brings fine dining downtown

The newest addition to downtown Wilson’s nightlife scene is a formal dining spot that shares locations, and most of the name, with the sandwich shop that once sat in its place at 132 Goldsboro St. S.

Angelo and Taylor Carlone, who previously owned The Corner Deli at the same location, say they opened The Corner to fill the void for upscale eateries in downtown Wilson.

“A lot changed in our lifestyle,” Angelo said about transforming his restaurant. “We had our first baby and we had to reevaluate our lifestyle and where things fit. There was nothing wrong with the deli. The deli was fine. We did great business, and we thank everyone that supported that. People still miss it.”…
