Andrew Bradley Thompson, 36, of Marietta, is accused of making threats to shoot the manager of Mazzy’s Sports Bar & Grill, 2217 Roswell Road in Marietta, and made the statement to “watch out for a red dot” while pointing a laser at the front doors of the business on Jan. 3 at 3:30 a.m., which had been closed for several hours, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.
Thompson had a 12 gauge shotgun in his white 2003 Land Rover that was accessible. Two shells for the shotgun were purposefully left by the business’ front doors for the purpose of intimidating the employees and warning them of imminent danger, which he intended to cause, according to the warrant.
An officer conducted a DUI investigation on Thompson. While talking to him, she detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath that grew in intensity the more Thompson spoke. The officer said he had glassy bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. When asked if he had any medical conditions, Thompson said PTSD.
