Brooklyn Man Charged With December’s Fatal Shooting In Trenton

TRENTON, NJ.- Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey reported that on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, a 33-year-old Brooklyn, New York, man was taken into custody and charged in connection with the December 2024 shooting death of a 32-year-old Trenton, New Jersey man.

Following an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department, Detectives formally charged Sean Wilkerson, 33, of Brooklyn, with one count of first-degree Murder; first-degree Felony Murder; one count of second-degree Attempted Kidnapping; one count of second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Wilkerson was taken into custody on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York, by members of the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. Wilkerson was processed on the charges and remanded into custody. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office will file a motion to detain Wilkerson pending trial.
