‘Everybody wanted him on their truck’: Outpouring of grief, love for Brockton firefighter

BROCKTON — Brockton said goodbye to Firefighter Jeffrey Albanese on a crisp, sunny winter’s day.

More than 500 people paid their respects to the 48-year-old with a “contagious smile” and a cornhole game that measurably improved whenever he pulled his wife, Michele, onto his team.

The Rev. Matthew Westcott said the funeral Mass for him at Saint Edith Stein church. He read a note from Michele: “Until we meet again, we love you and miss you so much.”…
