Hurricane Helene could bring up to 10 inches of rain to Greenville: Worst effects Thursday

Helene is now a hurricane and is expected to make landfall along the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, Sept. 26.

AccuWeather is warning the storm could intensify into a Category 4 with maximum sustained winds of 130-150 mph on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.

There is a significant risk of 3-6 feet of storm surge in the Tampa Bay Area and up to 10-15 feet of storm surge where the storm makes landfall, likely around the Big Bend area of Florida…
