South Carolina mom’s lover accused of killing 4-year-old daughter with special needs while babysitting

The parents of a 4-year-old South Carolina girl with special needs lashed out at the man accused of killing their daughter during a court hearing.

On Thursday deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office’s homicide unit team arrested and charged 28-year-old Tyler David Ternberg with homicide by child abuse. Investigators allege he caused “non-accidental trauma” to Addison.

4-year-old Addison Carr, who had special needs, was hospitalized with serious injuries on Dec. 23, Atlantanewsfirst.com reported. Ternberg, the boyfriend of Addison’s mother, was caring for the 4-year-old at the time the incident is believed to have occurred.

The young girl unfortunately died the day after Christmas, according to the coroner’s office, and an autopsy was performed the following day. Addison’s cause of death was ruled blunt force trauma. Her death was ruled a homicide…
