CHATHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — Drivers blowing through stop signs is one of the top complaints the Chatham Police Department says they respond to, and they showed this happening firsthand on Thursday.
In a Facebook post , the department posted a dashcam video of a driver going right through the four-way stop intersection of Ptarmigan Drive and Newcombe Lane without slowing down. The vehicle on video approaches the stop sign, with a fully marked squad car sitting at the intersection.

The police car was sitting at that intersection due to citizen complaints of people blowing the stop signs there. After being pulled over, the driver admitted that they saw both the squad car and the stop sign and still decided to run through the intersection without stopping.
The department also said they have recently stopped several other motorists at this intersection for the same reason. Motorists running stop signs is one of their biggest neighborhood complaints…
